Couples Sessions

I’ve been working with couples for several years and continue to be amazed and moved by the change that’s possible when two people work on themselves and their relationship. We will use the Work of Byron Katie (I’m a certified facilitator of the Work), which is an amazing tool for any conflict situation. It can be used for the most recent conflict as well as for any long standing challenges. Using the Work of Byron Katie to question assumptions, beliefs, and stressful thoughts, invites you to look at everything from all possible angles. It can challenge your thinking and open your mind. In my personal experience as well as in working with couples, that makes all the difference and can bring with it real transformation. Many couples experience through the sessions new insights about themselves and their partner.

In addition, I use the Gottman Method (I have a level 2 certification), which is an insightful and solution-oriented approach that provides tools and exercises.

Through this combination of the in-depth work and the hands-on tools and strategies, you will discover clear ideas as to how to improve the relationship in daily life.

We focus on the issues, challenges, and conflict you bring in. Communication is something many couples struggle with and like to improve. Conflict resolution and building trust are also important areas that many couples want to focus on. I will encourage and facilitate you to find your own answers.  And you will have tools that you can use on your own.

Reviews

Judith helped us so much during a very difficult time in our lives. We are feeling much stronger after working with her. My husband and I really enjoyed learning her techniques for improving our marriage. We never felt she was on one side or another…we were truly all a team. We not only learned how to live happier during the sessions, but also how to live happier for the long run. I have become much more positive with anything that life throws at me. Her vast knowledge has helped in all areas of life. I am so grateful we put in the time to work with Judith. Even though we “graduated”…we plan to continue to check in with Judith every few months. TG & CG

Testimonials

“The Work with Judith was a great opportunity for my husband and I to challenge our egos and resonate with truth. We were able to explore our thoughts/feelings and reach deeper depths in understanding ourselves and each other. The work has helped to create happier and more authentic versions of ourselves, as we work to disprove fear based thoughts/feelings.” –Shayla and Frank Shaw

“Doing The Work with Judith changed my life and how I think on a daily basis. When I observe my thoughts and ask myself -is it true? How would i feel if i didn’t have that thought? Everything changes in that moment. My heart then comes into play instead of my ego and I realize once again how liberating it feels to not continue with self sabotaging, limiting views. The Work makes me more present, joyful and empowered. Judith’s attentive, authentic guidance is such a gift that I will forever be grateful for.💕” –Kathleen Hall, Licensed Massage Therapist, Yoga Teacher

“Judith Pfeiffer presented the Work of Byron Katie to the Campus School faculty during inservice.  This was a powerful, moving experience for us all. There were many emotions palpable around the room, as Byron Katie’s work is applicable to everyone.  The tools provided created a manageable way to reduce stress and set priorities. Ms. Pfeiffer led us through the process at a pace that was supportive of the participants.  A short guide was left, which is posted in not only my office, but in others, as well. I often use this tool with the faculty and parents as we talk through concerns. I can’t recommend this training enough.” –Dr. Susan Copland, Director at Campus School

“I have been familiar with the work since 2008 and had a regular practice for years now. I’ve worked with a wide selection of different facilitators and Judith is hands down one of my very, very favorite ones. The space she holds is gentle and accepting, supportive and comfortable. I’ve truly felt, without hesitation, that I can bring any topic to inquiry with her, and she always meets me where I’m at. I give her my highest recommendations, and suggest you try her out for yourself. Because what Judith has to offer can really shift your world.” –Julia Rippel, Norway

“Judith is a thoughtful, sincere and insightful facilitator. During our calls, Judith has supported me in clearly revisiting a particular moment in time and staying grounded in the 4 questions. Her devotion to her practice shines through during her facilitation. She has been incredibly helpful in supporting me in overcoming many of my limiting belief systems.” –Danielle Morvan, Student & Facilitator of the Work.

“Judith was a gracious and enthusiastic host in this workshop. The sessions proceeded at a good clip, providing lots of fresh ways of looking at the topic, negative self-talk. Most importantly, I feel much less afraid of my inner critic than I did when I began the course. “It’s not about being perfect.” – A. J.

“I loved this class! I know it was good because by the last class I felt like we were only getting started.  I love The Work so much, and Judith did a wonderful job as a guide for looking at negative self talk.  In this course I really got a chance to look at that negative self-talk closely and had many experiences of seeing through it and laughing at it! I think a great lesson I’ve learned is to not take it so seriously, even when it is there, and not to resist it because the resistance in itself is part of the same negative dynamic.  I loved the partnerwork in the class as well, and doing group inquiries is soooo helpful.  Thanks Judith!” J. C.

“It is a pleasure working with Judith. Her calm presence and connection with me as well as the other participants is inspiring. Judith has the unique ability to both lead and participate alongside the other members of her retreats, creating an environment that is warm, welcoming and available. My time working with Judith during a weekend retreat was both fun, dancing and laughing with other participants as well as serving. The light environment helped me open to many beliefs I didn’t realize were running in the background- and i’ve been doing the work for many years now!”  Laura K.

Judith does a beautiful job of holding space–her abundant care and warmth are palpable.  This workshop was mind-opening in ways I hadn’t expected, and I’m still amazed at the depth and breadth we covered in just two days.  Don’t miss this one.–Marisa Handler

“Judith Pfeiffer led a wonderful class on dealing with performance anxiety, based on the work of Byron Katie–a process of inquiry that can affect deep changes, not only in performance but also in life.  Judith led the class through this process with clarity and insight, and the students came away with some simple but powerful concrete tools for shifting their perspective and energy regarding performance.”  –Timothy Shiu, Associate Professor of Violin, University of Memphis
